August in Wisconsin brings warm temperatures and peak sunflower season. Here are the top 3 fields in the surrounding area:

Sopa Fairview Farm in Amherst

A fourth-generation family farm, Sopa Fairview Farm’s sunflowers are at peak bloom right now. Hidden along Old Amish Highway, you’ll find 45 acres of rolling hills covered in blooms. There is no admission fee; however, donations are encouraged to help support the farm’s ability to continue growing sunflowers each year. The field is open sunrise to sunset. The farm is hosting a new event this year, Coffee in the Sunflowers, on Aug. 5 and 6 from 5:30-10 a.m. Find more information by visiting Sopa Fairview Farm on Facebook.

Auburndale School Forest

A bit further out, but equally as beautiful are the fields at Auburndale School Forest in Auburndale. This field benefits Toys for Tots of North Wood County and has 4.5 acres of flowers currently in bloom. This field offers many opportunities for photos from the platform to the bridge to a truck and more. This field is expected to remain open until Aug. 15. Ideal viewing is from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. as the field is surrounded by trees. Visit their event page on Facebook to learn more.

Kuckuk Farms

The Kuckuk Farms sunflower fields in Wild Rose are expected to open Aug. 12. This 15-acre field also offers several photo opportunities. Kuckuk Farms currently plans to be open one weekend only Aug. 12-13, but they may add additional days. The field will be open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. There is a $5 admission to the field for anyone over the age of 12. Veterans receive a 50% discount. Visit Kuckuk Farms on Facebook for more information.
