Autumn is a time to unwind and recharge from a busy summer heading into a busier holiday season. The Plover Area provides the perfect destination to do just that all while taking in some of the most beautiful fall foliage you’ve ever seen!

Peak leaf season is officially here, and though it won’t last long, you can absolutely still capitalize on viewing! Use this guide to help you plan a stress-free last-minute getaway this weekend!

Where to view:

There are many viewing options in the Plover area, but here are a few of our favorite spots!

For walking tours, start at the Little Plover River Park and visit one of the many wooded trails! Next, head over to Standing Rocks County Park! Visit in the early evening, and you’re almost guaranteed to see some wildlife while you’re there!

For kayaking or canoeing, use the boat launch at Lower Whiting Park to check out the Plover River. We also recommend viewing from the Wisconsin River by accessing the boat launch on River Road, just off County Highway HH.

For driving tours, we recommend starting at Feltz Dairy Store (be sure to head inside first for fresh cheese curds). Drive East on Plover Drive to County Highway J. Take a right and drive South to County Highway B. Take a left and enjoy the view all the way to Amherst! Once you reach County Highway KK, take a right, then another right on County Highway A. Once you reach Highway 54, take a final right and you’ll be headed back to Plover!
